SHORT BIOGRAPHY

🎬 International Film Composer | Sound Designer | Multi Awarded | Cannes | Oscar-Longlisted

Andreu Jacob is an internationally awarded Film Composer, Orchestrator and Sound Designer, working across feature films, documentaries, animation and interdisciplinary art.

His work has been showcased at major international festivals, including the Cannes Film Festival (70th & 71st editions), and is associated with projects long-listed for the 94th Academy Awards. Films scored by Jacob appear on Netflix, Amazon Prime Video, Apple TV and Prime Video.

Jacob’s sonic language blends acoustic instrumentation, chamber music and orchestra, Nordic tonal aesthetics and Mediterranean influences, field recordings and contemporary electronic design, crafting distinctive musical identities for visual storytelling. He has contributed to over 100 award-winning productions, collaborating with filmmakers and studios across Norway, Sweden, Spain, Canada, the United States, Brazil, Iran, Russia, India, Germany, New Zealand and beyond.

During the pre-production of More Than a Museum, Ennio Morricone personally recommended Jacob to director Morrosko Vila-San-Juan a rare and distinguished recognition from one of cinema’s most legendary composers.

Jacob actively participates in the international film community as a jury member for several festivals, including Peterhof Film Festival (Russia), TNISSFF — The Norwegian International Seagull Film Festival, and Curta Neblina Film Festival (Brazil).

In 2026, he opened a new chapter in his career as Director of Scoring for the Luna Lumen Film Festival (USA).

He collaborates with widely recognised visual artists such as Gottfried Helnwein, Serge Marshennikov, Peter Gric, Lara Zankoul and Ian Brodie, and is the founder of KUNST Art Symbiosis, a platform where music and visual art converge.

Beyond composition, Jacob has led masterclasses and seminars at academic institutions and film festivals including SAE Institute, Taller de Músics, L’Aula del Conservatori del Liceu (Barcelona) and WENIFF (Norway, 2025).

Throughout his career, he has received support and endorsements from respected brands in the music and audiovisual industry, including Zildjian, Native Instruments, Steinberg, Clavia, Tama, Casio and SoundYeti.

Currently based in southern Norway and working internationally, Jacob continues to develop projects where sound becomes narrative and music sculpts emotional architecture for the moving image.

Artistic Statement

Music, for Jacob, is not accompaniment  it is architecture.
A space where silence, emotion and time coexist.
Sound becomes memory, and narrative becomes resonance.

His compositions are rooted in sensitivity, intuition and deep listening. Rather than reinforcing images, his work seeks to reveal their hidden emotional layer  the invisible pulse of a story.
